Another Prayer to Start the Day - by Pastor Brad
Friday, September 07, 2007 :: 318 Views :: 0 Comments :: From The Pastor ::

Another short prayer I like for starting the day is from a pastor named Fred Craddock, who's a wonderful storyteller and preacher, and who has written a few books along the way. My notation says "The prayer Fred Craddock prays privately every morning." Here it is....

Precious God, we are grateful for a way of life that is more important than how we happen to feel about it on any given day. Amen.

It's a prayer I need because it acknowledges the danger of allowing the entire horizon of my life, my persepctive on the day, to be colored by my feelings as I get up and get the day started. We're part of a way of life that's more important than that constricted view. It also reminds me I may not be feeling the same way later in the day, so why allow my feelings of the moment to color my whole day? It's good to know I'm part of something bigger than myself.
