UNITED METHODIST WOMEN SUNDAY will be celebrated on Sunday, August 29. Since this is a "5th Sunday" we will have just one worship service at 10:00 am. Rev. Sue Ott-Holland will be the guest preacher. She has asked that members of the congregation bring a quilt to be displayed in the sanctuary as she speaks on how we are all small pieces, but together we can do beautiful things. Members of the United Methodist Women will also be taking part in the worship service. Mark your calendar - you don’t want to miss it!!
Then, following the service, join us in the social room for our Annual Church "Picnic". We will enjoy grilled brats and hot dogs, chips, pickles, etc. You don’t need to bring anything - and, the best part is that the event will take place - rain or shine!! A free-will donation will be accepted to help with expenses. Would anyone like to volunteer to do the grilling? Call the office, please.

BAKE SALE AT THE FARMER’S MARKET - On Saturday, August 7th, the U.M.W. will host the bake sale at the Farmer’s Market on State Street. The entire church family is asked to bring your baked and canned goods to the Case Company Parking lot on State Street by 8:00 am that morning; or bake ahead an put your goodies in the freezer at church. Help will be needed at the sale as well. Let Carol Feest or Kathy Harsh know how you can be of assistance.

IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO DONATE TO THE UMCOR HAITI EMERGENCY FUND
Our North Central Jurisdictional Coordinator for UMVIM has requested that we send out an appeal to help Haiti in the aftermath of their devastating earthquake. We have been asked to urge pastors and outreach committees to take an offering for the Haiti Emergency, UMCOR Advance # 418325. 100% of gifts to UMCOR through the Advance support the designated project. You can also give online at the UMCOR website. There you will also find news of the disaster, volunteer information and how we are responding as United Methodists. UMCOR is also asking that you consider putting together Health Kits as part of your response [assembly and shipping instruction available online.] The mission of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is to alleviate human suffering—whether caused by war, conflict or natural disaster—with open minds and hearts to all people. Your support will help UMCOR be there to provide long-term recovery efforts for the people of Haiti.
